I was looking to buy a home in Arizona and my agent suggested I give the Oliver-Whalen team a try. At first I still was trying to work with my Chase mortgage person since we banked there but it was an awful experience. It took Chase two weeks to provide me a pre-qualification and it only took Justin’s team ONE day to provide this. I dumped my Chase mortgage contact and went with Nova!

I use the VA loan, and I had heard many people say how hard it was to get the loan approved, etc. NOT with this team! I only had to submit all my papers once, they didn’t ask for more papers, and we closed EARLY! I had started the loan process with someone else, was very dissatisfied…no return calls, no updates, extra paperwork. I chose to switch to Justin’s team half way through my house buying, and it was night and day different. They call you, the email you, the entire team knows where your process is at. Very nice team.

I was able to purchase my home because Ryan was able to offer options I did not know were available or possible. The situation had multiple obstacles but Ryan worked through them which made the process less stressful.

I was a first time home buyer and was nervous about choosing a lender. I knew that finding a good lender was important but not sure exactly what made a lender good until I was referred to Ryan Whalen with Nova. I had been in touch with 2 other lenders prior to Ryan. The first was through my agent and they did not accurately or fully communicate important information and on 2 occasions did not respond to emails asking questions. The second was a referral who told me that I would need to wait another 6 months. So when I fist contacted Ryan I wasn’t very confident but It didn’t take very long before I felt differently. Just to keep it short but and to the point……. If someone was knowledgable, available to you almost any time and was able to make you feel like you we’re the only client that they working with and focused on, through the entire home buying process wouldn’t that feel pretty good. Ryan Whalen is THE BEST. His team was so quick, and held or hand the entire time. No matter how small the question, it was answered as if we mattered. The Same Day, sometimes within minutes, each question we had or concern that came up was answered respectfully and as if we were the team’s primary client. Th Oliver-Whalen Team pulled through for me at the last minute when my previous lender dropped the ball and almost caused me to loose the home I was under contract for. The first time I talked with Dan Preston, I was impressed with his kindness and responsiveness. He was thorough and honest, but yet considerate and thoughtful. I called him many times; sometimes two to three times a day. He always had time for me and if not at work he answered his cell phone. He never made me feel like I was bothering him. During the course of waiting for underwriting and funds to be released seemed so stressful to me; a few times the tears flowed and my voice quivered, but Dan reassured me that it takes time and it would be okay. Justin was always available even on weekends when any questions arose. He did a great job on our home loan considering there were a lot of issues since I was closing on one house and buying another. He had to reset my VA loan for the new house. He did a great job and made things move smoothly!

This was my fourth home purchase in Phoenix, and my sixth lender (!). Needless to say, I’ve had the entire spectrum of loan experiences–from a lender who wouldn’t close the loan due to unrealistic stringency with regard to building permitting (out-of-state lender w/o knowledge of local market), to a loan officer who literally went on vacation and didn’t forward the paperwork so the loan would close. Far and away, Nova was the most responsive, organized lender I have ever dealt with. They kept me informed with status updates throughout the process; my LO, Chris, was helpful, on-the-ball, and trustworthy; and their credit dept. even advised me on how to raise my credit score so I could get a better interest rate! Although there was a hiccup with the appraisal, Nova managed to rectify it with only a minimal delay to the closing. This was the least-stressful loan process I have undergone… I have finally found my lender!
